This Year Is Different
Meeting for the first time in elementary school and staying inseparable until they become college students, childhood friends ‘Ahn Do-hoon’ and ‘Woo Ik-soo’ have shared everything. The hidden key that has tightly bonded them is the perpetually mid-tier baseball team, the ‘Dolphins.’
“It feels like we said this last year too, but this year is different.”
As die-hard fans of the Dolphins, the two always went to the baseball games together like an unspoken rule. Do-hoon, who naturally assumed he would attend the home opener with Ik-soo, went through great lengths to get the tickets, even paying a premium. But the response he got was a disappointing, “I’m going with someone else, not you…”
“So, you’re going with that person, Ik-soo!?”
“Of course, I’m going with that senior. The opening game tickets were free, it’s a no-brainer.”
The appearance of their college senior Young-ha creates a rift between Do-hoon and Ik-soo. Feeling hurt and disappointed, Do-hoon can’t bring himself to go to the long-awaited home opener. Throughout the game, Ik-soo, who is watching with Young-ha, keeps thinking of Do-hoon.
“It would have been nice if Ahn Do-hoon had come too. I’ve always gone to the baseball games with him…”
Like a sudden curveball, their relationship faces a completely different phase.
As the Dolphins take a step closer to victory, Do-hoon and Ik-soo start becoming conscious of each other. This year, truly, is different!
