Love:Zero
Jiyu, a student at Astor School—an elite private all-girls academy in Manhattan’s Upper East Side—lives in the same apartment building as Hunter, who attends Alton School, the all-boys academy just across the street. However, between Hunter, who lives in the penthouse of a luxury Fifth Avenue apartment overlooking Central Park, and Jiyu, who lives in a first-floor affordable housing unit, there exists a gap as vast as the highest peak and the absolute bottom of a pyramid.
Even their personalities are polar opposites: Jiyu loves to sit quietly and read books, while Hunter cannot stay still for even a single second.
Showing a natural talent for tennis, Hunter begins competing in earnest in tournaments and wins every single match Jiyu attends. Because of this, Hunter becomes convinced that Jiyu is his winning good luck charm.
Eventually, the turbulent storm of adolescence finds them both. Amidst all this, tragedy strikes Jiyu.
With nowhere else to go, the Hamilton family takes her in, but Jiyu is relegated from being Hunter’s friend to nothing more than a servant.
Jiyu exploits Hunter to survive, while Hunter exploits Jiyu because of his superstition.
In a tennis match, “Love” means zero. A love game is a game where one player’s score is zero. Bound together in a tangled web of love and hate, the two face each other across the net, trading volleys in a love game. Who will ultimately emerge as the winner of this game?
